The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan on Monday joined the 2023 Presidential race under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Lawan’s friends reportedly purchased the APC nomination forms at the International Conference Centre, ICC, a day shy of Tuesday’s deadline for the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY gathered that Lawan’s friends were led by Chief Sam Nkire, a member of the National Caucus of the party and 15 other Senators.
This makes the Senate President the 24th aspirant to pick the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms.
The APC presidential primary is scheduled for May 30.
