Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Saturday formally declared to run for the Presidency in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The governor made the declaration at the Eagles Square Abuja, with many dignitaries including, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase; Kogi state Deputy governor, Edward Onoja; former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode among others in attendance.

Bello promised to make 20 million Nigerians millionaires by 2023.

His declaration lays to rest speculations surrounding him running for the Presidency in 2023.

Hafsat Abiola-Costello, daughter of the presumed winner of the June 1993 presidential election, late Moshood Abiola, has been named to lead the governor’s presidential campaign organisation as its Director-General. While the Director-General of the M.K.O. Abiola Campaign Organisation and former Senate Deputy Leader, Jonathan Zwingina, has been named the national coordinator of the Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign

Speaking, Zwingina described the Presidential aspirant as a detribalized Nigerian, who governs Kogi with appointees from other states.

Stressing that Nigeria needs Bello as a President, Zwingina noted that the “governor uprooted insecurity from Kogi, the state would have been a breeding ground for kidnapping and banditry, but for his leadership skills.”
