‘President-Elect’ Tinubu Conferred With GCFR Ahead Of Swearing In

The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred the highest honour in Nigeria, Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, GCFR.

President Muhammadu Buhari conferred the honour on Tinubu at an Investiture Ceremony on Thursday at the conference center in the State House Abuja

The Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima was also decorated as Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON.

Tinubu also recieved the handover documents from President Buhari.

Barring any last-minute court order, Tinubu and Shettima will be sworn in on Monday, May 29th, as president and vice president respectively.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party are challenging in court the declaration of Mr. Tinubu as winner of the February 23 Presidential Election by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
