‘Wike Is An Expired Drug About To Be Taken Off The Shelves – Dino Melaye

The former lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has described Rivers State governor as “an expired drug, which is about to be taken off the shelves.”

Melaye said this on Wednesday while speaking on the Morning Show on Arise TV, noting that he (Wike) is suffering from post-election trauma.

The former senator was reacting to comments credited to the Rivers Sate Governor that he lacks what it takes to be governor of Kogi State.

“Why would Kogi people say they would vote for a candidate like Dino? Are we joking? Wike had recently mocked Melaye’s gubernatorial ambition during a live media chat with selected journalists in Port Harcourt

Responding Melaye said, “I don’t have the time actually for drug and alcohol-induced individuals.”

When asked why he is talking ill of a man who had supported him both morally and financially in the past, he said, “Wike himself has been helped by the PDP and anything he is doing for any individual in the PDP is like giving back from what the PDP has done for him.

“Governor (Peter) Odili made him the chairman of his local government. So he has been helped by someone.

“After Odili helped him, Governor Amaechi made him chief of staff. Governor Amaechi nominated him to be minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Patience Jonathan (former first lady) spent her money and connections to make him the governor of River State.

“But when Wike helps you, he goes public to announce it. Once he gave N50million to a respected traditional ruler and a former minister and he went on national television to announce it.

“Wike invested in me because he saw the qualities in me to be the governor of Kogi State. But because now because I supported Atiku Abubakar, he is taking on me.”

Talking about Kogi, the former senator said he would be the People’s Governor if elected.
