Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the UK government to show mercy in the matter of former deputy Senate President, Ike Ewkeremadu, who is being tried for organ trafficking.
Obasanjo made the appeal in a moving letter of leniency sent to the Clerk of the Old Bailey Court, where Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice and a doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, were found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man to the United Kingdom with a view to his exploitation after a six-week trial at the Old Bailey.
