Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian senator, has slammed Nigerian politicians, who bring up religion to legitimise their “evil” after winning elections by rigging, falsifying results, or vote buying.
Sani wrote on his Facebook page that power derived from rigged election cannot be from God.
He wrote, “After they buy votes, falsified figures and rigged elections, they will bring in religion to launder and legitimise their evil; and want you to believe that power is from God. Power derived from rigged election is not from God.”
His statement comes as some politicians called on Nigerians to accept the outcome of the 2023 elections, claiming that it is the will of God.
