
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Mbah has been declared winner of the Enugu State governorship election held last Saturday.
Mbah, who defeated Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, LP, was declared governor-elect on Wednesday night by the returning officer, Prof. Maduebibisi Iwe.
Mbah was said to have polled 160,895 votes, while Edeoga got 157,552 votes to finish second.
Frank Nweke Jnr of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) scored 17,983 while Chief Uche Nnaji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 14,575 votes to come a distant third and fourth respectively.
