
The Rivers state police command says four security agents who were caught on camera carting away a ballot box in Igwuruta community in the state during the elections in the state on Saturday, February 25, have been arrested.
A statement on Monday by the spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this, saying the accused security agents comprising of one officer and three inspectors have been taken into custody and their pick-up van impounded.
She said all electoral offenders will be adequately sanctioned.
There had be accusations of massive rigging againt the Labour Party levelled against INEC officialy, who had allegedly changed the election results on behalf of Governor Nyesom Wike, in favour of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Residents, who participated in the Saturday’s presidential election, said Obi was heading to a landslide in the State before the alleged manipulations.
