Ex-aide Slams N100m Suit On Aisha Buhari For ‘Unlawful Detention, Assault’

A former Special Assistant to the President in the Office of the First Lady, Zainab Kassim has gradded the President’s wife, Aisha Buhari, to court, demanding N100m as damages from her and other respondents for unlawful detention and assault among other things.

Kassim filed the suit for the enforcement of her fundamental rights against the First Lady, Inspector-General of Police and the Department of State Services.

In the suit with the number: FHC/ABJ/OS/202/2023, she claimed that some Department of State Service officers, acting at the behest of Aisha, abducted her and took her to the Presidential Villa, where she was severely assaulted, dehumanised and abused by the first lady with the support of officers of the DSS and Police for deleting her posts on social media.

Kassim is asking the court to declare her arrest and detention as unlawful.

The spokesperson for the first lady, Mr Aliyu Abdullahi, had yet to comment on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
