The Independent National Electoral Commission says election will not hold in 240 polling units.
The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated this at a meeting with leaders of political parties on Monday in Abuja.
According to Yakubu, nobody chose to vote in these polling units.
With less than 12 days to the presidential election, the INEC chairman also expressed concern over rising attacks on party supporters.
Recall that on Saturday thugs, suspected to be loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had attacked many Labour Party supporters, who were making their way to their party’s “mother of all rallies” at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
LP presidential candidate condemned the attacks in strong words and asked the police to fish out the culprits.
Neither the Lagos State APC nor the State governor had condemned the attacks as at the time of filing this report.
