
Gunmen have killed Nnaemeka Ugboma, the chairman of Ejemekwuru Customary Court in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY gathered that the incident happened on Thursday when the gunmen, who operated in motorcycles, showed up while the judge was presiding a court session.
His killing forced court proceedings to an abrupt end as lawyers, court staff and litigants fled.
The chairman of Nigerian Bar Association Owerri branch, Ugochukwu Allinor has confirmed the killing, saying the lawyers union would communicate the public on its actions over the incident.
The spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, had yet to comment on the killing as of the time of filing this report.
