INEC Begins Uploading Of Presidential Results After Outcry

Following public outcry, the Independent National Electoral Commission Saturday night began to upload the 2023 presidential results on its website.

As at 10:45 pm, results from a total of 2,060 out of the 176,846 polling units had been uploaded.

INEC had come under fire for failing to upload of results on its portal.

Nigerians had taken to social media to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission to fulfill its promise in uploading the results of the elections from different polling units across the country unto its server.

The hashtag #Uploadtheresults had garnered over 26,000 tweets on Twitter and is currently one of the highest trends on the microblogging site.

Also, one of the leading Civil Society Organizations, YIAGA Africa, in a statement on Saturday expressed disappointment at the failure of the commission to upload the results.

“Yiaga Africa is deeply concerned with the delay in uploading polling unit results for the Presidential election on the INEC Election Result Portal.

“As of 7 pm on election day, no result was uploaded after voting & counting ended in several polling units #NigeriaDecides2023,” YIAGA said.
