Senegal have qualified for the knockout phase of the 2022 World Cup after beating Ecuador 1-2 in a Group A match on Wednesday, becoming the first African side to reach that feat in Qatar.
Senegal leapfrogged Ecuador into second place and a spot in the last 16 thanks to goals from Ismaila Sarr and Kalidou Koulibaly.
