Nigerian investigative journalist, David Hundeyin said a criminal case of perjury will be filed today by a private prosecutor in Abuja against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
Mr. Hundeyin dropped the hint when he appeared on AriseTV on Tuesday morning, saying Abuja based lawyer, Mike Enahoro-Ebah filed the case.
He said that it has emerged that Tinubu lied on a number of issues in the forms he submitted to INEC, especially about working for Deloitte in the United States, which he said has turned out to be false.
Reacting to subpeona, Deloitte, a leading audit and consulting company, categorically said that they don’t know anybody by the name Bola Tinubu.
Meanwhile, this is the same company the former Lagos governor claimed paid him a $850,000 bonus, as he tried to explain how he managed to have over one million dollars US investigators found in his accounts.
Recall that in an interview with TheNews Magazine, Tinubu, said he had a salary deposit of about $1.8 million while working with Deloitte and Touche.
He said, “My bonus was $850,000 before taxes. My salaries were also being paid into the bank and I was not touching them. At the time, my salary deposit in the bank had risen to $1.8million.”
As a result of false information, he submitted to INEC, Hundeyin said the APC flagbearer committed perjury and, due to his alleged links to drug rings, is also not a fit and proper candidate to be president in view of Section 137 of the 1999 constitution, as amended.
Recall that Mr. Hundeyin had over the weekend released a damning documentary over Tinubu’s alleged links to drug lords while he lived in the United States.
