The Kogi State House of Assembly building, located at Crusher Area, Lokoja, has been gutted by fire.
The fire, which erupted on Monday morning, ripped through the roof of the Chamber, causing extensive damage to the floor of the house.
The Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, and the state security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among the early callers at the assembly complex.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but the assembly building was completely burnt.
The Speaker of the Assembly said that he suspects sabotage but fell short of where the suspected sabotage might be from.
He further said the house will allow security agencies to investigate the incident.
Kolawole however added that this would not stop the Assembly from performing its duty as the resolution of the house concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
