
A bomb has exploded in the Taraba State capital, causing panic among residents.
The incident occurred aroung 9:05pm on Sunday night at a location close to the First Roundabout leading to the Taraba State University.
No lives were lost but some shops and residential buildings in the area were reportedly damaged.
Eyewitnesses at the scene of the blast said that the bomb was planted behind a drinking joint.
A little baby of about four years was at the shop sleeping when the wall collapsed, according to a local who does not want to be named.
She was said to have survived and taken to a hospital, where she is recieving medical attention.
The police had yet to comment on the type of explosive it was, but have cordoned off the area to avert another blast in case another device was planted nearby.
