Super Eagles winger, Chidera Ejuke, has joined German Bundesliga side, Hertha Berlin on loan from CSKA Moscow.
Hertha announced this on its website on Wednesday.
The Nigerian said he joined the club to boost their chances of winning trophies.
“I’m looking forward to playing for Hertha, to the Bundesliga and this special challenge. I want to do my bit in helping the club achieve its goals,” said the 24-year-old after joining the ‘Old Lady’ from Moscow.
“Chidera has proven himself in several European leagues already, and brings good skills alongside speed and versatility. We’re sure that he’ll improve our game with his abilities,” Fredi Bobic said on the attacker’s arrival, who feels best on the left wing.
Nigeria international Ejuke has played his football in Russia since the summer of 2020, scoring 10 goals and setting eight more up in 65 competitive appearances.
His exploits earned him a Nigerian national team call-up in October 2020, and since then he has been capped eight times for the Super Eagles.
Before his time in Russia, the right-footed attacker played for SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, with 16 goal involvements in 29 games in the 2019/20 season. Before that, Ejuke played in Norway between 2017 and 2019, scoring 15 goals and notching 6 assists in 69 appearances for Vålerenga Fotball.
Ejuke made his professional football debut in his homeland Nigeria, when he played for Supreme Court FC.
He later went on to play for Gombe United before going abroad.
