The abducted Bishop of Jebba Diocese, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Adeyinka Aderogba, his wife and driver have been freed.
This comes after 48 hours after they were abducted.
The Bishop and his wife were abducted alongside their driver while traveling on the new Oyo-Ogbomoso Expressway in Oyo State. This reportedly occurred shortly after their car developed a fault at a lonely section of the road at around 8:30pm on Sunday.
Their release was confirmed by the Diocese of Osun Anglican Communion via its Twitter handle on Tuesday evening.
The Diocese said they are being taken to the hospital for medical attention.
“Praise be to God. Bishop Adeyinka Aderogba, his wife and driver released from the den of kidnappers after 48 hours.
“They are being taken to the hospital for medical attention,” it read.
However, it is still not clear whether ransom was paid before they were set free.
