The kidnapped Prelate of the Methodist Church, His Eminence Samuel Uche, on Tuesday revealed that N100m was paid as ransom to his abductors before he was released.
The cleric said this at a press conference in Lagos, explaining that the monies were arranged in five sacks of N20 million.
According to him, the money was raised by the Methodist Church in Nigeria.
He noted that neither the Federal or State Government, nor the military or police intervened.
The Prelate, who was kidnapped on Sunday in Okigwe Imo State, alongside two others, the Bishop of Methodist Church, Owerri Diocese and the Prelate’s chaplain, was released on Monday.
