Kautukari, a village in the Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, has been reportedly attacked on Tuesday by terrorists of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP.
Local officials in Chibok, who spoke in anonymity, confirmed to the Cable that gunshots were heard around Kautikari at about 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
The terrorists reportedly stormed the community at about 6 pm, shooting randomly as they raided houses.
The assailants are said to also set houses on fire after chasing the residents away with gunfires.
A resident told the online newspaper that the insurgents arrived in the community heavily armed and shooting sporadically.
According to him, soldiers stationed at a military forward operation base (FOB) in Kada, just 2km away from Kautukari, were also dislodged by the terrorists.
It was, however, reported that more troops have been mobilised from the army’s 117 battalions in Chibok town to the area.
Kautukari is 17km away from Chibok town.
