A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo, has been arrested by a team of policemen on the orders of Governor Nyesom Wike.
Dagogo, representing Degema-Bonny federal constituency, was arrested on Thursday evening at the PDP zonal secretariat.
Wike, in a statement by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri had earlier declared Hon. Dagogo wanted after alleging that he led suspected cultists to disrupt the screening of National Assembly and State House of Assembly screening on Wednesday.
Hon. Dagogo had denied the allegation.
Shortly before his arrest, Farah had arrived at the secretariat at about past 6pm and walked into the hall where the panel was conducting the screening for the governorship candidates, but some policemen followed him soon afterwards.
Dagogo was later seen coming out surrounded by heavily armed security agents who later drove off with him in their patrol van with the inscription ‘Operation C4i-027’.
