
A former minister of Aviation as well as former minister of youths, sports, and culture, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas is dead.
There is no official confirmation from the family but a reliable source from Kalabari land who pleaded anonymity confirmed his death to The Punch, saying he has been battling an undisclosed ailment.
Graham-Douglas, born 8th May 1939 was appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989, then Minister of Aviation during General Ibrahim Babaginda’s cabinet.
In 1999, he was appointed Minister of Labour and Productivity, and in 2000, Minister of Tourism in the Olusegun Obasanjo cabinet, leaving office in January 2001.
Late Graham-Douglas who hails from Abonnema in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State was also a Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Culture in the state.
