
An explosion occurred on Friday at Nukkai, in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, leaving at least five persons wounded.
The incident occurred at a drinking joint in Nukkai, which is located along Jalingo/Wukari road.
The suspected suicide bomber was said to have arrived at the spot, dropped a polythene bag and and left.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi confirmed the incident, saying the explosive was detonated behind the old Catholic church located in Nukkai area of the state.
The police spokesman could not ascertain the number of casualties at the time of filing this report, however he said no fewer than nine persons were inflicted with varying degrees of injuries.
The victims are currently receiving medical attention.
This comes barely three days after bomb blasts rocked Iware community of Ardo-Kola, leaving many dead.
