
At least nine people have been hacked to death by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Mbaigbe Yaav Council ward of Turan in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident happened on Thurday afternoon when the said herdmen attacked the victims who were farming on their lands.
Details are still sketchy but a resident, who did not want his name in print, told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that so far nine dead bodies have been recovered from the bush, while search for more bodies were still on going.
He also said that the attack left many others wounded.
The Benue State Police Command had yet to comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
The latest attack comes barely eight days after suspected herdsmen attacked Mbadwem and Tiortyu communities in Guma and Tiortyu Local Government Areas of Benue State, killing not less than 23 residents
