
An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Idowu Asufi, has slumped and died while on duty.
The incident happened on Tuesday when Asufi slumped in his office.
It was gathered that he had earlier attended an official function and then went back to his office, where he was said to have collapsed and died before he could be resuscitated.
The deceased, who was in his late 50s and an indigene of Ekwani community in Delta State, was in charge of Administration in the State Police Command.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat confirmed the death of ACP Asufi, saying he had also served as Chief Security Officer to the Bayelsa Government House during the administration of former Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.
He also served as Commander of the State Security Outfit, Door Akpor.
