Gunmen on Thursday morning set ablaze the secretariat of Nnewi South Local Government Area in Anambra State.
It is still unclear if anyone died or was injured.
Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying “It is a suspected case of arson”.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga told reporters that the information “is still sketchy”.
The spokesman added that more operatives had been deployed to the area and Fire Service was contacted.
