Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Thursday declared to run for the office of the President in 2023.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives made the declaration in Sokoto after a high-level stakeholders meeting.
Mr Tambuwal, who intends to run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said he is not only well prepared but also ready to fix the numerous problem of the country as President of Nigeria.
According to him, the PDP remains the hope of Nigerians.
He called for unity among party members ahead of the general elections, noting that the PDP is ready to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Governor Tambuwal now joins other PDP presidential aspirants including former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Dele Momodu and Gov Mohammed Bala of Bauchi.
Recall that Atiku Abubakar had beaten Tambuwal at the PDP Presidential primary in 2018 to get the party ticket.
