2023: First Son Of Former Senate President Evan Enwerem Declares Interest To Contest Imo House Of Assembly Seat

Chief Miguel Amobi Enwerem, first son of late Senate President, Chief Evan Enwerem, has declared his interest to contest the Ikeduru seat in the Imo State House of Assembly in 2023.

Enwerem Jnr, the Ogbuhuruzo II, announced his intention in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, a copy of which was sent to CHECKPOINTCHARLEY.

In a chat later with CHECKPOINTCHARLEY, Enwerem, who is a graduate of Emerson Media College Massachussets, stressed however that he is still consulting with key stakeholders at federal, state, local and ward levels, and “I am encouraged with the support they have shown.”

According to him, he intends to run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

On why he decided to run, the son of a former Imo State governor said, “We cannot continue this way. Things have to change for our people; they deserve a better life and I want to fight for them to realise that dream.

“I love my people and am tired of seeing them in despair.

“As a private citizen, I do all I can to assist and support them, but I would be able to champion their cause better if I found my way into the legislature.”

Chief Enwerem, who had worked as a producer for Portuguese Television, is now a businessman
and CEO of Radarmalibu Entertainment, a Lagos and Lisbon based Film producing company.
