INEC Declares Anambra Gov Poll Inconclusive, Fixes Nov 9 For Supplementary Election in Ihiala

Professor Florence Obi, the Returning Officer of the Anambra State governorship election, has declared the exercise inconclusive, saying a supplementary election will hold in 362 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area on Tuesday, November 9.

Citing the constitution, she stressed that election had to take place in those polling units for the election to be conclusive.

According to the returning officer, election did not take place in Ihiala because there were reports of insecurity in the area.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, is headed for a landslide.

The former central governor leads his opponents with a total vote of 103, 946, followed by Mr Valentine Ozigbo who scored 51, 322 votes to emerge second.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Sen. Andy Uba, came third with a total of 42,942 votes.
