Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, while trying to go to Germany.
He was arrested at an airport in Cotonou on Monday night, CHECKPOINTCHARLEY has learnt.
His arrest comes three weeks after the Department of State Services declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms.
He however denied the allegation.
A source told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that Igboho will be repatriated to Nigeria on Tuesday (today) from Benin Republic.
The Nigerian secret police had raided Igboho’s Ibadan residence in the Soka area earlier this month and arrested about 12 of his aides, killing two of them.
The DSS said they were killed during exchange of fire.
When contacted, a member of Igboho’s legal team, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said he was not yet aware of his arrest.
DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya was unreachable as at the time of filing this report.
