Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari, who were allegedly paid to stage a counter-protest on June 12, in support of the now unpopular president, were seen at the Unity Fountain, Abuja on Saturday morning fighting over the sharing formula of the money given to them.
Eyewitnesses say the leaders of the group were seen in a heated exchange over the sharing of monetary resources meant for organizing the counter protests.
There had been protests in the capital city Abuja by residents protesting against bad governance and insecurity in the country.
Earlier, police operatives had teargassed peaceful protesters at Gudu Area of the city, causing tension in the area.
Similar demonstrations are currently ongoing in major parts of the country including Lagos and Osogbo.
