Many persons have sustained different degrees of injury after an explosion rocked parts of Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The explosion reportedly occurred at the dry fish section of the market around 6.20am when traders were bringing in their goods and others were opening for business.
Two persons were severely injured, while scores, mostly women, suffered various degrees of injuries.
The spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, SP. Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident to reporters, saying police operatives have been deployed to the scene of the incident to ascertain what happened.
He added that no lives were lost, while the injured persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
