Two offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ebonyi State have been set ablaze by hoodlums.
The burnt offices are located in Ebonyi and Ezza North Local Government Areas of the state.
As at the time of filing this report, no casualties were recorded but there were extensive damages to the building and facilities.
This comes a few hours before a meeting between INEC and heads of security agencies over incessant attacks on the Commission’s offices.
The latest brings the number of attacks on INEC offices to 23.
A breakdown showed that the most affected states include Akwa Ibom (four), Abia (three) Anambra (two) and Imo (two).
Other states that witnessed fire incidents between February 2019 and May 2021 are Borno, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Kano, Ondo, Plateau, Rivers and the Federal Capital territory.
