Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba has died at an undisclosed hospital in Cairo, Egypt, family sources told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY on Friday.
She was aged 61.
Recall that Mama Taraba had resigned as the Minister of Women Affairs of Nigeria on July 27, 2018, to contest the governorship election in Taraba under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC.
She however lost to the incumbent, Governor Darius Ishaku who ran for a second term in office under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Before becoming minister, Al-Hassan was a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing the Taraba North Senatorial District under the PDP.
