Senator Rochas Okorocha has been reportedly arrested by the Police in Imo and taken to the State Police Headquarters after he used hoodlums to break into seized estate in Owerri.
It is gathered that the former governor on Sunday afternoon led thugs to break into the property of Imo State government in Owerri, allegedly destroying security vehicles, among other things.
The said property is said to be the Royal Palm Estate, a luxurious hotel, owned by his wife, Nkechi, but alleged to have been built with stolen Imo funds, while her husband was at the helm.
Mr. Okorocha was said to have gone to the estate with his supporters, policemen, soldiers and personnel of National Security and Civil Defence Corps and ordered the unsealing of the estate.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed his arrest.
Ikeokwu said the Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Mohammed, invited Okorocha for questioning following his alleged involvement and forceful entry into a property that was recently confiscated by the Imo state government.
According o him, the command received a distress call that there was commotion and violence at the Royal spring palm hotel located at Akachi road in Owerri.
