Twenty-one people have been killed and forty others abducted as bandits attack on Shiroro communities in Niger State.
The latest attacks reportedly took place early Tuesday morning when about three hundred gunmen on motorcycles stormed Kurege, Sabon Gida, Sararai and Rafin Kanya, shooting sporadically.
An eye witness who is also an indigene of Shiroro Local Government, Galadima Salisu while confirming the incident, saying the bandits operate in the area at will. He told the Press that unless governments at all levels intervened, the area will be taken over by the bandits.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, had yet to comment on the report as at the time of filing this report.
But the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane confirmed the incident to the Punch. But said he had no knowledge of the actual number of people killed.
