Domestic flights in Nigeria will resume on July 8, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced on Wednesday via his official Twitter handle.
The minister said the restart of commercial operations would begin with the Lagos and Abuja airports which would both open on July 8.
He added that four other airports including Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Maiduguri would resume from July 11.
Sirika tweeted, “I am glad to announce that Abuja & Lagos airports will resume domestic operations on the 8th of July, 2020. Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri & Maiduguri to resume on the 11th. Other airports on the 15th. Date for international to be announced in due course. Bear with us.”
The Feferal Government had last week announced a July 1 resumption of domestic flights after operations were shut down in March to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
