With 15 new deaths confirmed on Tuesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet, fifty-three people have now died of COVID-19 complications in four days.
The NCDC also announced 241 fresh COVID-19 cases.
This now brings the total number of infections in the country to 10,819, as the disease has spread to 35 states and the FCT.
The number of fatalities increased from 299 to 314, and a total of 3,239 recoveries have now been recorded, NCDC said.
While 15 deaths were recorded for Tuesday, 12 fatalities occurred on Monday and 26 people died over the weekend.
