Nigeria has recorded 285 new cases of COVID-19, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed in a tweet on Saturday night.
The new infections were reported in 12 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
This brings the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the country to 7,526, as the disease has spread to 34 states and the FCT.
Lagos recorded the highest daily toll with 131 confirmed cases, followed by Oyo with 34 cases and Edo with 28 cases, the NCDC said.
The number of recoveries increased from 2,007 to 2,174, while no COVID-19 fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours. It was the first time in the month of May that there was no COVID-19 related death.
