Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and some of his aides on Saturday threw social distancing to the wind as they stayed close to each other, celebrating his victory at the Election Tribunal.
This is in utter disregard to the directive of Nigeria Centre of Disease Control (NCDC) on social distancing, which advised Nigerians to maintain a distance of at least two meters to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Kogi state governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja had earlier affirmed Yahaya Bello as the winner of the 2019 election.
Mr. Bello had in a recent video, that went viral in the internet, called for a rethink on COVID-19.
Kogi, like Cross River state is yet to record an index case. But the NCDC says it is so because of Kogi had prevented them from carrying out testing in the state.
