It’s Official: Former United Nations Scribe Ibrahim Gambari Is Buhari’s New Chief Of Staff


President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Gambari, former UN under secretary-general, as his new chief of staff.

Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation, announced this at the federal executive council meeting on Wednesday.

Gambari replaces Abba Kyari who died from COVID-19 complications in April.

The new chief of staff from Kwara state, was the minister of external affairs from 1984 to 1985 under Buhari’s military regime.

He has also served as the under secretary-general of the UN and special adviser to the secretary-general on Africa between 1999 and 2005.
