Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially asked the the Nigerian Supreme Court to revisit its controversial Imo judgement which sacked him as governor.
An ally of Ihedioha just confirmed this development to CHECKPOINTCHARLEY, saying the application was submitted today (Wednesday).
Recall that the apex court had on January 14, in a decision that defied both the law and commonsense ousted the former deputy speaker of Nigerian House of Representatives and replaced him with Hope Uzodinma, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who came a distant third in the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial election of the state.
Noteworthy is the fact that his party, APC, did not even win a single seat in the Imo State House of Assembly.
That absurd decision had sparked outrage and protests across the nation and globally.
Civilsociety groups had also asked the Supreme Court “to take courage and recall the Imo state governorship matter and recall the error and restore Justice, peace, hope and faith in our democracy and regain the confidence of the Nigerian people.”
