The High Commissioner of South Africa to Nigeria, Bobby Monroe, has said that Nigerians are not targeted in his country, denying reports of xenophobic attacks.

Mr. Monroe said this at a press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, during a broadcast on Channels Television in Abuja on Tuesday.

In his view, the attacks are “sporadic acts of violence,” claiming that businesses belonging to other South Africans were also affected in the violence.

The Federal Government had summoned him over the latest xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
