The leader of the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has ordered the members of the group in Japan to disgrace and arrest President Muhammadu Buhari when he arrives the Asian country on Sunday.
Kanu gave the order in a statement on Friday, urging IOB members in Japan to mobilize and ensure that they arrest President Buhari.
According to him they are ready for the legal consequences of their action.
But he said President Buhari must be arrested and handed over to Japanese authorities to enable him to answer for his alleged mass murder and crimes against humanity, which he allegedly committed in Nigeria between 2015 and 2019.
Earlier on Friday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, had announced that the President will leave Nigeria for Japan on Sunday to participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development, holding in the City of Yokohama from August 28-30, 2019.
Recall that on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany, suspected IPOB members had assaulted former president of the Nigerian Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, while attending the Iri Ji festival organised by Ndi Igbo Germany.
IPOB leader Kanu had endorsed the attack, saying the “Ekweremadu treatment” now awaits all South East governors and leaders, who he said betrayed them (IPOB).
Meanwhile, some South East governors and senators have cancelled their oversea trips in the light of the threat.
As at the time of filing this report, the Presidency had yet to react to Kanu`s threat.
