Lawan Visits Ekweremadu After Assault By Suspected IPOB Members


Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Monday paid a solidarity visit to Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who was assaulted on Saturday by suspected members of the  Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Nuremberg, Germany.

A photo of the visit was released by the office of the senate president after Lawan visited Ekweremadu at his Abuja home.

Present during the visit was the immediate past Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige.

Ekweremadu had been invited to by the Ndi-Igbo Germany association to its Iri-ji (a traditional festival) celebration in Germany where the assault took place.

The Ibo group has since apologised to the former dep. senate president, who said he has forgiven those who assaulted him.
