Will governor Rochas Okorocha succeed today in his unpopular quest to install his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as the next governor of Imo State? Or will the people vehemently reject what they have called an attempt to enslaave them?
This question will be answered today as Imolites troop out en masse to vote for their next governor.
The governorship race will be be a contest between the ruling APC, PDP, AA and APGA.
However, opinion polls favour the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha to emerge victorious.
Mr. Okorocha’s decision to back his son-in-law, who is running on the platform of another party (AA), has not gone down well with the national leadership of the APC.
It also badly divided the APC in Imo, leaving in tatters its chance of winning the governorship race.
The Imo electorate will also vote in the State Assembly elections.
