Election Update: Atiku Wins Adamawa

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has Christians to thank after he finally won a tight presidential race in his home szaze of Adamawa.

Atiku scored 412, 266 to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari who garnered 377,488.

However, Buhari won 11 of the state’s 21 local government areas, while Mr Abubakar picked the remaining 10. The results show a difference of 34,778 between them.

Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) had won the state by over 100,000 votes in 2015 presidential election.

Atiku won hugely in Christian dominated areas of the state.
