Buba Galadima, a spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation and fierce critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari government, has been reportedly arrested by security agents.
Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan tweeted this on Sunday, alleging that Galadima was abducted by masked security operatives and his whereabouts remains unknown.
He tweeted, “Nigerians and the world over should know this— Alhaji Buba Galadima has just been kidnapped by masked security operatives, his whereabouts is unknown.
“Buhari/APC are hell bent on destroying our hard earned democracy.
“We will never be cowed, the will of the people MUST prevail.”
This comes few hours after a spokesperson for President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign, Festus Keyamo asked security agencies to arrest Mr Galadima, a vocal voice of the opposition.
Keyamo, a former activist, had accused Mr Galadima, without evidence, of recording a video announcing Mr Abubakar winner of the Saturday’s polls.
Some PDP stalwarts have also said in a statement on Sunday that there is credible plot to arrest the party’s leaders and clampdown on party loyalists running its election situation room in Abuja.
Calls to Mr. Galadima’s mobile phone did not go through as it was switched off.
