President Muhammadu Buhari, at about 8.07am, cast his vote for himself at Kofar Baru 003 polling unit, Sarkin Yara ward in Daura, his hometown in Katsina state, boasting to win the 2019 presidential election.
After voting, Mr. Buhari told journalists, when asked if he would congratulate the winner if he ends up losing, that “I will congratulate myself at the end of this election; I’ll be the winner”
However, opinion polls show a looming defeat for Buhari.
However, the president said he was satisfied with the conduct of the exercise.
“So far, so good. Nigerians understand and are behaving themselves,” he observed.
Katsina State recorded the highest number of permanent voter cards (PVC) collection in the country, according to figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Out of the 3,230,230 registered voters, 3,187,988 collected their PVCs, INEC had revealed.
