APC Gov Lalong Names Ex-Convict Dariye, 48 Others As Campaign Coordinators

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has named former Governor Joshua Dariye, who is an ex-convict, and 48 others as members of the campaign council of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement in Jos on Sunday signed by Mark Longyen, Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Lalong on Media and Publicity, saying the campaign council has the governor as chairman, with his deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, as deputy chairman.

It added that the 49-member council, which would work for the re-election bid of the governor and President Muhammadu Buhari, also has Hon Letep Dabang, Plateau State APC chairman; Rt Hon Joshua Madaki, Speaker of the state House of Assembly; Solomon Dalung, Minister of Youth and Sports, as members, among others.

Former governor Dariye is currently serving a 10-year jail term in Kuje Prison following his conviction by an Abuja High Court for misappropriating Plateau State fund while in office from 1999 and 2007.
